5Just what I was looking for..
By joe
I was adamant about finding a fan that was quiet. I did a lot of research and then went searching for a DC motor, which was rated as the quietest and best.I love this fan and I recommend it to anyone looking for the same.

4Great Ceiling Fan
By werkindude
Was a little skeptical in ordering a Kichler ceiling fan, as some of their lighting fixtures I have installed seamed kind of flimsy. However never had any trouble with any of them once installed. The fan did not exhibit these same traits!! It is built solid, makes no noise what so ever, even on the high setting. And required only minimal balancing. The only thing I found a little odd was that the speeds on the remote are backwards. 1 is high and 5 is low. Not sure who thought out this logic, but it is explained in the manual as well. But for those of us that don't read the instructions until we are done. It could be deceiving when starting the fan, and as all guys do, start with the high setting(5)and the fan runs on low speed. Kind of disappointing until you figure it out. Once on high(1)it will clear the room of any loose objects. So if in the market for a large format ceiling fan, and want to save yourself some money. You can run this DC fan year round for 25-30 bucks a year. As compared to an AC fan that will cost you 130 plus per year. Making return on investment a couple years.
