I didn't receive the item I ordered
By Craig A. Bowers
The items sent were replacement types that were almost identical. I received 2- Canarm Sherwood Polished Brass Three-Light 52-Inch Ceiling Fan with Frosted Glass- Bellacor Number: 619385.The replacement were sent w/o notifying me in any way.So far the replacements seem ok; but time will tell.

Seems nice, but wrong categorizing..
By Sam
When we searched to buy a fan, we purposely looked for one with a remote control. This fan was categorized as a fan that brings a remote, HOWEVER.. it does NOT bring a remote.Other than the mistake on their part, it seems like a pretty decent fan.

Luv my Levon

All the reviews are absolutely correct. A bit pricey but the high level workmanship is noticeable. I love it and is one of my best purchases. It was the perfect size for my family room and it looks like I have a helicopter crashed upside down into my ceiling - in a good way.

We installed this in a large family room with a high ceiling. Looks great and we get lots of comments on it. I'm not sure why it costs so much more than your run of the mill fans, but the effect seems worth the extra cost.

Inconsistent Quality Control, two out of four defective.
By Drew
Purchased my first "Ball" about 6 months ago and it is flawless, powerful, quiet and very sturdy - the best fan ever! A month later I purchased another and it made a annoying humming noise like a cheap fan. Amazon was great and returned it. I reordered a replacement "Ball" and found the humming to be a bit better. However it's not nearly as quiet as the first one purchased. Additionally, the paint was poor quality on the edges of the blades and there was a scrape on the metal housing. For the price I would have expected better quality control. I would rate the first one I purchased a solid 5 stars, it's perfect. The others get a solid 1 star, they are not any better than a $50 fan from a big box store. I hope Modern Fan Company improves their quality, I would like to purchase from them again, but at this point I don't want the hassles. Amazon was great processing the return, if you do purchase make sure it's from Amazon or a merchant that provides hassle free returns. You might very well need it.November 2011, decided to try my luck again with another one. It was perfect! Just like the first one it's silent and the blades were perfect, no defects. Still running great after 6 weeks. The original "perfect" one runs for at least 10 hours a day and continues to run silently. Upgraded to four stars from one, trying to give Modern Fan a fair review, maybe they just had a bad batch and or they have made some changes with their manufacturing.

Problem solver
By jennifer farmer
We recently removed a wall between the dining room and kitchen while updating the kitchen. The counter is now between the kitchen and dining room and comes around like an island. The slide in range replaced a "cooktop" with downdraft which took up too much counter space and I didn't want an overhead vent which would have defeated the purpose of removing the wall. This fan hangs in the dining room and solves my ventilation problem and provides awesome ventilation in the kitchen and circulates the air throughout the kitchen, dining room and great room. The fan rotates 360 degrees and goes either right or left which is awesome in moving the air which you can actually feel moving. I was a little reluctant of purchasing this item on line but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Great looking fan, poor quality control
By 911192
Purchased the fan via Lumens (Amanzon referral). Good customer services and simple transaction. Website was not updated to show actual shipping date but fan arrived in 2 weeks so no big deal. Good instructions and a simple install with no headaches. The reason for the low score is due to poor quality control. After 3 weeks the fan needs to be returned. The central motor has a defect that causes a clicking noise in the housing and the remote receiver unit within the fan is not working properly (light will not dim). When I contacted Lumens they do not provide technical support but they supplied the manufacturer's support information quickly. The manufacturer was easy to contact and helpful but informal (i.e., no case number); the manufacturer said "Just tell Lumens you spoke to Laura."I have received an e-mail that they will ship a new fan at no cost. Nothing has been said about returning the old fan so that may be interesting. Two other items to note about the fan. It has good air displacement but it definitely noisier then a traditional ceiling fan. The dual blades create more white noise so be aware if you are sensitive. Also, the light works but is fairly dim so if you are going from a 4 bulb ceiling fan to this unit the light level is noticeably less.

Great circulation!
By Janice
These fans look wonderful and really move a lot of air. We have 22 foot high ceilings and purchased two of them. You can feel the air moving easily with the fan on medium speed. My only regret was that I did not order the hand held remote.

great fan
By B A F
works and looks wonderful. The fan is the quietest one I ever (didn't) hear. On the lowest speed, it moves a lot of air. It impressed the electrician who installed it, as well as a neighbor. In fact, the neighbor bought one for himself the very next day.

Minka Aire--Excellent product!
By DamnCrazySophia
This was my second Minka Aire purchase and I couldn't be happier. The product is very well made, runs extremely quietly, and is visually stunning. I purchased both the Minka Aire F513-ORB, and the Minka Aire F518-ORB, both come with remote controls for easy use, both run very quietly and do not wobble at highest speed. Had them professionally installed so not sure how easy it was, but the installer did say he had no problem and everything in needed was included and very well packaged. Ive had several ceiling fans over the years from cheap ones to very expensive ones, and none have been as quiet as these.

Good choice for small spaces
By dave o.
I needed to replace a larger fan due to the installation of a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe, which interfered with the original fan's blades. This is the third small diameter fan that I purchased to be that replacement. The first two were less expensive (by half) but both were horribly noisy -completely unsuitable for a nursery bedroom. The Minka was the first quiet one. Usually the noise factor is a function of the motor design, pancake versus what I call 'washing machine' motors. The pancale motors have an inherent hum that seems to be louder the cheaper it is made. these two previous fans were pancake style and they could be heard two floors down in the basement. The Minka is quiet, with only airflow noise. The reason for only 4 stars is that it exhibits a slight wobble, which I have yet to get balanced out.
