This fan is gorgeous. The blades are two sided so you can choose between a dark cherry and an even darker color. The shape of the blades is very nice as well. The fan is quiet and yet it moves a lot of air. The pull chains have two pendants that label each one for light and fan. That is a very useful feature when you don't know which chain to pull to turn on the fan. It does not take 5 minutes to install, but about an hour.

I bought two of these for the two bedrooms three years ago. They're going strong, and I've just bought a third for the kitchen. Because I have a gas stove, I won't be able to use it while cooking, but I'll have moving air while I do other work (or socialize with friends) in the kitchen. That will save me some bucks in air conditioning. The bronze body, dark wood, and deco shade fit right in with my decor. These fans are very quiet; on the highest speed, the loudest sound is the whoosh of air.One word of caution: you cannot use a continuously variable speed controls with these fans or you'll get a horrible hum. Use the built in pull-chain speed control, or set the fan for the highest speed and use a three speed capacitor type wall control. (That's why I gave it four stars instead of five.)

We bought this fan to replace another with a white fixture and pastel blades in the room we repainted khaki and red for my son. This fan is a classic design that would work in pretty much any decor. Love it!
